Reconstruction of the 2 x 110 kV Brestanica–Hudo transmission line

The existing one-system transmission line will be upgraded to a two-system 110 kV transmission line, increasing its transmission capacity. This will also ensure the better quality and reliability of the electric power supply for the Dolenjska and Bela Krajina regions.

By reconstructing the transmission line, the existing one-system transmission line will be upgraded to a two-system 110 kV transmission line, increasing its transmission capacity. The reconstruction is necessary for the anticipated construction of the hydro power plant chain on the lower Sava river, the development plans of the Brestanica thermal power plant, and for ensuring a reliable electric power supply for the Dolenjska and Bela Krajina regions.

Basic data

  • Project name: Reconstruction of the 2 x 110 kV Brestanica–Hudo transmission line
  • Type of facility: two-system transmission line
  • Rated voltage: 110 kV
  • Length: 35 km
  • Anticipated year of construction - phase 1: 2021
  • Anticipated year of construction - phase 2: 2032

Route

  • This transmission line runs through the municipalities of Krško, Škocjan, Šmarješke Toplice and Novo mesto. The upgrade of the transmission line mostly follow the route of the existing 110 kV Brestanica–Hudo transmission line, more precisely from the Brestanica thermal power plant to Družinska vas, and from Bajnof to RP Hudo. The new section of the route runs only from Družinska vas to Bajnof.
