ELES is the winner of the Corporate Affairs category - WCFA DAVOS 2023

On Tuesday, December 12, WCFA DAVOS announced the winners of the global communications industry and awarded ELES with first place for exemplary communication of corporate affairs and Katja Fašink (head of Corporate Communication at ELES) for the best crisis communicator.

The company ELES was announced as the winner in the category of communication of Corporate Affairs by the president of the jury, Mr. Arun Sudhaman: "ELES, the combined transmission and distribution system operator, receives the first award (gold winner) for exemplary communication strategies that bridge the gaps between the energy industry and the general public. The company is led by director Aleksander Mervar, who effectively communicated his vision of a sustainable future, emphasizing the importance of the green transition and the inclusion of renewable energy sources. ELES actively participates in various conferences, actively includes women in the energy dialogue, builds smart grids, and raises the standards of the energy congress industry, thereby demonstrating its commitment to transparent communication on topics key to the energy sector. In the category for The Best Crisis Communications Leader, upon announcing the gold winner for 2023, Katja Fašink, head of corporate communication at ELES, the president of the jury, Mr. Arun Sudhaman, stressed: "Her effective leadership has had a positive impact on the company's reputation and reduced negative media connotations. In a unique position, she oversees all communication, documentation, and corporate events of the company she represents. Documenting corporate events and communication collaborations in complex crises shows that she is a distinguished communicator who, among other things, successfully finished the Oxford Academy for Corporate Affairs. She is a doctoral candidate and head of a special group for corporate reputation at the FORBES Communication Council. Katja is also recognized for her contributions to the theory of communication, as her leadership extends to international platforms, where she chairs PRCA Slovenia and participates in the jury for the PRCA Platinum Awards 2023, ICCO 2023, and BalCannes 2023. In addition to her professional activities, she is an advocate of human and environmental rights."

 

Katja Fašink is the head of the Corporate Communications Department at ELES, the combined transmission and distribution system operator of the Republic of Slovenia, the president of the PRCA Southeast Europe Network Slovenia Chapter, and Member Leader of the FORBES Communications Council for corporate reputation.

Aleksander Mervar is the director of ELES, the combined transmission and distribution system operator of the Republic of Slovenia, the president of the Energy Chamber of Slovenia, a member of the board of directors of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, and a member of the government working group for monitoring the preparatory work for the Krško 2 Nuclear Power Plant.
